HELPING OUR COMMUNITY
The Grafton Food Pantry was incorporated in 2006 and is run by friends with a passion to help out their community. Through the years, their vision grew with the help of many volunteers and organizations within the community. The Mission of the Grafton Food Pantry is to provide food items and household products to people in need of assistance and seek to improve their lives through education on nutrition and smart shopping.  We are committed to educate and engage our community in the fight to end hunger and help our neighbors in need.

The unique thing about the food pantry is how it brings the community together.  We are a multi-generational success story...Boy Scouts, seniors, the business community, churches, your local Walmart, Costco all working together to provide a safe haven for people to get food, a gift card, a smile and a helping hand. If people require other types of services, we are also a referral center.   Treating everyone with the dignity they deserve is part of our mission. There are no politics or hidden agendas...just folks working together to help their neighbors. Our volunteers are truly an amazing group of people that have helped us not only survive, but thrive.

If you or a person you know is in need please contact us for information on how we can help.  We serve the Village of Huntley, Village of Lakewood and portions of Lake in the Hills, Crystal Lake and Algonquin.

HUNGER 101
America is the land of plenty. But for 1 in 6 Americans hunger is a reality. Many people believe that the problems associated with hunger are confined to small pockets of society, certain areas of the country, or certain neighborhoods, but the reality is much different. Right now, millions of Americans are struggling with hunger. We all know and are in contact with people affected by hunger, even though we may not be aware of it.

These are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go with out food for several meals, or even days. Most of us simply have no idea. It's time to educate ourselves about the causes of hunger in America.
